The HM-540 uses a high-frequency capacitance measurement method, allowing for measurements to be taken simply by lightly pressing it against the surface of the wood without causing any damage. Judging solely by the surface dryness can lead to various issues, such as warping and discrepancies in finishing dimensions. In such cases, a wood moisture meter that can measure the average moisture content throughout the wood is necessary.
